Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: certified organic red raspberry leaf dried extract in liquid form. Red raspberry leaf has a long history in herbal medicine, though its effects on human health are still being studied.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Red Raspberry product and its label doesn't state a use — see Red Raspberry's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence we hold doesn't establish that red raspberry leaf is effective for aging skin, heart disease, respiratory infections, heart failure, or diabetes. For all of these uses, the data shows insufficient reliable evidence to make a rating.

If you're considering this product for a specific health goal, talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist about whether the evidence supports it.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Red raspberry is generally well tolerated by most adults, though the overall safety data is limited. The most common side effects from oral use are mild — diarrhea, upset stomach, and upper abdominal pain — but these don't typically occur at normal doses.

One occupational case of asthma-like symptoms (wheezing and shortness of breath) was reported from breathing in raspberry powder, but that's not a concern with this liquid extract taken by mouth. Red raspberry leaf has mixed safety ratings in pregnancy: some data suggest it's likely safe, other data suggest possibly safe, and some indicate it may be unsafe — the evidence isn't clear-cut.

If you're pregnant or planning to become pregnant, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using this product. For breastfeeding, there isn't enough reliable information to know either way, so check with your healthcare provider for personalized advice.

Moderate interaction found

Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Red Raspberry.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs; diabetes medications.
  • For scale: 135 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Before taking this product, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on any blood thinners or antiplatelet medications (like warfarin, aspirin, or clopidogrel) — red raspberry leaf may increase bleeding risk. Also flag it if you take insulin or other diabetes medications, since the leaf may lower your blood sugar.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

Herbal Terra Raspberry may be worth considering if you're interested in red raspberry leaf for general wellness, but the evidence for specific health claims isn't established yet. If you take blood thinners, antiplatelet drugs, or insulin, you'll want to clear this with your doctor or pharmacist first — the documented interactions could affect how those medications work.

Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs

Theoretically, taking red raspberry leaf with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs might increase the risk of bleeding.
In vitro research suggests that red raspberry leaf extract has antiplatelet activity and enhances the in vitro effects of the antiplatelet medication cangrelor. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Insulin

Red raspberry leaf might reduce glucose levels in patients being treated with insulin.
In one case report, a 38-year-old patient with gestational diabetes, whose blood glucose was being controlled with medical nutrition therapy and insulin, developed hypoglycemia after consuming two servings of raspberry leaf tea daily for 3 days beginning at 32 weeks' gestation. The patient required an insulin dose reduction. The hypoglycemia was considered to be probably related to use of red raspberry leaf tea.
