HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Raspberry Ketones 400 mg by BulkSupplements.com
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: raspberry ketone at 400 mg per capsule. Raspberry ketone is a compound found naturally in raspberries and is added to supplements in concentrated form.
The capsule itself is made from hypromellose, an inactive ingredient used as the capsule material.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for raspberry ketone is limited. For obesity and alopecia areata (a type of hair loss), the data we hold shows insufficient reliable evidence to establish whether it works.
In short, we don't have solid proof of effectiveness for these uses, and you should not expect it to reliably deliver results.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Raspberry ketone is used safely in foods, but safety data from human studies at supplement doses is very limited. Because it resembles a stimulant compound, stimulant-related side effects are possible — case reports describe heart palpitations, rapid heartbeat, elevated blood pressure, and in rare cases, serious heart rhythm disturbances.
A few people have also reported sweating, diarrhea, and shakiness after taking it. For pregnancy and breastfeeding, there isn't enough safety information available.
The safety data advises against use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this supplement if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take stimulant drugs (like ADHD medications, decongestants, or weight-loss drugs) — there's a Moderate risk of increased cardiovascular effects. If you take warfarin or other blood thinners, that's a Moderate concern too, as raspberry ketone may reduce how well warfarin works.
No interactions are documented for the inactive capsule ingredient.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Raspberry ketone may be worth considering if you're looking for a weight or hair-loss supplement, but the evidence of effectiveness is weak. The bigger issue is that it can interact with stimulant medications and blood thinners, and it carries a risk of heart-related side effects even on its own.
If you take warfarin or any stimulant drug, or if you have a heart condition, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting it.

Raspberry Ketones 400 mg by BulkSupplements.com Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Raspberry Ketones 400 mg by BulkSupplements.com does interact with medications.
The main concern is with stimulant drugs — because raspberry ketone is structurally similar to synephrine, a known stimulant, it may increase the risk of serious heart effects like palpitations, elevated blood pressure, and abnormal heart rhythms. Altogether, these interactions span 174 individual medications.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
A second documented concern involves warfarin (Coumadin), a blood thinner. One case report showed a patient's blood thinning effect weakened while taking raspberry ketone, requiring a dose increase of warfarin to maintain therapeutic protection.
This is a moderate-severity interaction that needs monitoring.
If you take any stimulant medication (including some ADHD treatments, decongestants, or weight-loss drugs) or warfarin, run your exact medications through the interaction checker below before starting this supplement. Your doctor or pharmacist can advise whether it's safe for you to use together.

Raspberry Ketones
Stimulant Drugs
Theoretically, raspberry ketone might increase the risk of adverse cardiovascular effects with stimulant drugs.
Structurally, raspberry ketone resembles synephrine, a known stimulant agent. Heart palpitations, elevated blood pressure, coronary vasospasm, pulseless electrical activity arrest, and resistant polymorphic ventricular tachycardia have been reported in patients taking raspberry ketone.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Theoretically, raspberry ketone might increase warfarin dose requirements.
In one case report, a patient taking warfarin 55 mg per week had a decrease in INR over a period of one month while taking raspberry ketone 250 mg daily. A warfarin dose increase to 70 mg per week was necessary to maintain a therapeutic INR while taking raspberry ketone. The mechanism for this potential interaction is not known.
