Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

Resforte contains one active ingredient: resVida Trans Resveratrol, a compound from grapes and red wine that your body may use for various functions. The softgel capsule also holds several inactive ingredients — gelatin, glycerin, extra virgin olive oil, yellow beeswax, soy lecithin, and annatto seed extract — that help deliver and preserve the resveratrol.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Leans against

The strongest graded evidence we hold for the stated purpose leans against a benefit.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: promote healthy heart and cardiovascular health.
  • We looked for evidence on: Cardiovascular disease (CVD), Hypercholesterolemia, Hypertension, Atherosclerosis, Endothelial function.
  • The closest evidence on file: Resveratrol is rated "Possibly Ineffective" for Cardiovascular disease (CVD) (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Resveratrol is rated "Possibly Ineffective" for Hypercholesterolemia.
  • Also on file: Resveratrol is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Hypertension.

The evidence we hold shows resveratrol is possibly effective for obesity and allergic rhinitis (hay fever). For cardiovascular disease and high cholesterol, the data suggests it's possibly ineffective — meaning it doesn't appear to help those conditions based on current research.

The strength of evidence for all these ratings is limited, so talk with your doctor if you're considering this for a specific health goal.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Resveratrol from food sources is well tolerated. When taken as a higher-dose supplement, it's generally well tolerated, though some people report diarrhea, loose stools, or general digestive upset.

A small number of people on dialysis reported headache, fatigue, and memory loss (though a direct link hasn't been proven), and one person developed a rash that went away after stopping the supplement. The safety data advises against this supplement during pregnancy and breastfeeding — there isn't enough information to know it's safe.

If you're pregnant, planning pregnancy, or nursing, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it.

Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Resveratrol.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs.
  • For scale: 823 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Before taking Resforte, double-check it with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on blood thinners or antiplatelet medications (like warfarin or aspirin) — resveratrol may increase bleeding risk. Also confirm it with any medication your liver metabolizes, especially muscle relaxers like chlorzoxazone, since resveratrol can raise their levels.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates

Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit CYP1A2 enzymes. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 2C19 (Cyp2C19) Substrates

Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C19.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit CYP2C19 enzymes. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 2E1 (Cyp2E1) Substrates

Resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2E1.
In vitro research suggests that resveratrol inhibits CYP2E1 isoenzyme. Also, a pharmacokinetic study shows that taking resveratrol 500 mg daily for 10 days prior to taking a single dose of chlorzoxazone 250 mg increases the maximum concentration of chlorzoxazone by about 54%, the area under the curve of chlorzoxazone by about 72%, and the half-life of chlorzoxazone by about 35%. Chlorzoxazone is used as a probe drug for CYP2E1.

Likelihood Probable Evidence B
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates

Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit the CYP3A4 enzyme. However, clinical research shows that taking resveratrol 3000 mg daily for 8 weeks does not necessitate dose adjustments to medications metabolized by CYP3A4.

Resforte With Trans-Resveratrol by Bricker Labs: Common Questions

Does Resforte With Trans-Resveratrol by Bricker Labs interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Resforte With Trans-Resveratrol has a known interaction with 822 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Resforte With Trans-Resveratrol contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Can I take this if I'm on a blood thinner like warfarin?
No — not without talking to your doctor first. Resveratrol may have blood-thinning effects and could raise your bleeding risk. Your doctor may need to monitor you or adjust your medications. Check with them before starting.
What's the most common side effect?
Diarrhea and digestive discomfort are the most common complaints, especially at higher doses. Most people tolerate it well, but if your stomach is sensitive, start with a lower dose or take it with food.
Is this safe to take while pregnant or breastfeeding?
No — there isn't enough safety information. The data advises against concentrated resveratrol supplements during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist if you're in either situation before taking this.
Does this actually help with weight or allergies?
The evidence suggests resveratrol is possibly effective for both obesity and hay fever, but that's not a strong guarantee — the research is still limited. Results vary from person to person, so it may help you or it may not.
Will this interact with my liver medications?
Possibly. Resveratrol can theoretically raise levels of several types of drugs your liver breaks down. One study showed it raised levels of a muscle relaxer by 54%, so run your medications through the checker on this page and confirm with your pharmacist or doctor.
