What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains 4 active ingredients. Carnipure is a form of L-carnitine, an amino acid your body uses to turn fat into energy and support heart and muscle function.
CherryPure Sour Cherry is a concentrated extract from tart cherries, traditionally used for recovery and inflammation. The other two active ingredients—NovaSol and Oceanix—aren't detailed in the data we hold.
The rest is inactive ingredients (fillers, binders, and colorings) that make up the capsule.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
L-carnitine is Effective for treating L-carnitine deficiency, and Possibly Effective for high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia), congestive heart failure, and angina. Sour cherry extract is Possibly Effective for athletic performance, but the evidence for exercise-induced muscle soreness, cognitive function, ADHD, and exercise-related respiratory infections is not yet established in our data.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
L-carnitine is generally well tolerated at typical doses, but high doses can cause stomach upset, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, nausea, and a fishy body odor. Rarely, seizures have been reported.
Sour cherry is generally well tolerated as a food, though concentrated supplements are less studied; some people report abdominal pain, loose stools, or gastrointestinal upset. We don't have pregnancy safety data on file for L-carnitine, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist if you're pregnant or trying to become pregnant.
Sour cherry as a food is likely safe during pregnancy and lactation, but concentrated supplement data is limited. Safety while breastfeeding with L-carnitine is not well studied, so caution is advised.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check before using if you take warfarin (Coumadin), acenocoumarol (Sintrom), or any other blood thinner—L-carnitine may boost their blood-thinning effect. Also double-check if you're on thyroid hormone replacement, as L-carnitine may reduce its effectiveness.
Both are Moderate severity interactions.
The bottom line

Supercharged Recovery Orange Citrus by Performix Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Performix Supercharged Recovery Orange Citrus does interact with certain medications through its L-carnitine ingredient (Carnipure).
The most serious concern is with blood thinners (anticoagulants): L-carnitine may increase the blood-thinning effects of warfarin (Coumadin) and acenocoumarol (Sintrom), a shorter-acting blood thinner, and there are case reports of increased INR (a measure of how thin your blood is) with acenocoumarol. This is a Moderate severity interaction.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
L-carnitine may also decrease how well thyroid hormone replacement works by blocking the hormone's entry into cells—another Moderate severity concern if you take thyroid medications.
We were not able to check two other ingredients in this product (NovaSol and Oceanix) because we hold no data for them. If you take a blood thinner or thyroid hormone, or any other prescription medication, use the interaction checker on this page with your exact drugs before you start.

Carnipure
Acenocoumarol (Sintrom)
Theoretically, L-carnitine might increase the anticoagulant effects of acenocoumarol.
L-carnitine might enhance the anticoagulant effects of acenocoumarol, an oral anticoagulant similar to warfarin, but shorter-acting. There are at least two case reports of INR elevation with concomitant use. In one case, a 33-year-old male with a previously stable INR had an elevated INR of 4.65 after L-carnitine was started and continued for 10 weeks. INR normalized after discontinuation of the L-carnitine-containing product.
Thyroid Hormone
Theoretically, L-carnitine might decrease the effectiveness of thyroid hormone replacement.
L-carnitine appears to act as a peripheral thyroid hormone antagonist by inhibiting entry of thyroid hormone into the nucleus of cells. Taking L-carnitine also seems to diminish some of the symptoms of hyperthyroidism.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Theoretically, L-carnitine might increase the anticoagulant effects of warfarin.
L-carnitine might increase the anticoagulant effects of acenocoumarol, a shorter-acting oral anticoagulant similar to warfarin. There is not enough information to know whether this interaction occurs with L-carnitine and warfarin.
