What’s inside
Full disclosure
Takesumi Supreme contains one active ingredient: takesumi (bamboo). The product is a powder form with no other inactive ingredients listed.
Bamboo is marketed for dental health, though we don't yet have reliable evidence supporting that use.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for bamboo in preventing tooth decay (dental caries) is insufficient — meaning we don't have enough reliable data to say whether it works or doesn't. That's the only effectiveness rating we have on file for this ingredient.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Raw bamboo shoots contain natural toxins that can cause poisoning, but properly cooked shoots are widely eaten and considered safe. Takesumi Supreme's processing method and safety profile in supplement form aren't well studied, so you should know the data is limited.
During pregnancy, the safety data advises against concentrated bamboo supplements. While breastfeeding, safety is unknown; talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using a concentrated extract like this one.
In rare cases, topical bamboo contact has caused skin irritation (contact dermatitis) in someone.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take antithyroid drugs (medications for an overactive thyroid), double-check this product with your pharmacist before starting it — bamboo may increase its effects and side effects over time.
