What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: boron, a mineral at 3 mg per capsule. Boron supports bone health and may play a role in how your body handles minerals like calcium and magnesium.
The capsule also contains microcrystalline cellulose, gelatin, and magnesium stearate — these are inactive ingredients that give the capsule its form and help it hold together.
Does it work?
Not established
Boron is likely effective for treating boron deficiency, which is rare in people eating a typical diet. The evidence suggests it may possibly help with vaginal yeast infections (candidiasis) and radiation skin damage (dermatitis), though the data here is less solid.
For athletic performance, the evidence suggests it's probably not effective.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
At 3 mg, boron falls well below the safe upper limit of 20 mg daily and is generally well tolerated. The most common side effects when taken by mouth are appetite loss, skin irritation, redness, and indigestion — though these are uncommon at low doses.
If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, skip supplemental boron. The safety data advises against it in pregnancy because high amounts may harm the fetus, and there isn't enough data to know it's safe while breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
