What’s inside

Low disclosure
Ingredient Transparency · database check
Low

Most active ingredients don't disclose an individual amount — you can't tell how much of each you're getting.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 2 of its 5 active ingredients.
  • “Proprietary Probiotic Blend” is a proprietary blend — the label gives one combined amount (96.75 mg) without saying how much of each component you get.

TruFloraPro contains five active ingredients: two Lactobacillus strains (salivarius LS-33 and plantarum Lp-115), Bacillus coagulans (trademarked as ProDURA), and two enzymes — Beta-Glucanase and Hemicellulase — plus a proprietary probiotic blend whose individual components are listed separately. The probiotics are live microorganisms meant to support digestive health; the enzymes assist in breaking down food.

The product also contains inactive ingredients like cellulose, maltodextrin, and magnesium stearate as binders and fillers.

Moderate evidence
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Moderate

Some clinical evidence supports this product's ingredients for its stated purpose, but it isn't conclusive.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: digestive and immune health support.
  • We looked for evidence on: Antibiotic-associated diarrhea, Clostridioides difficile infection, Constipation, Diarrhea, Dyspepsia, Flatulence — and 4 related terms.
  • The strongest evidence on file: Bacillus Coagulans is rated "Possibly Effective" for Constipation (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Bacillus Coagulans is rated "Possibly Effective" for Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
  • Also on file: Bacillus Coagulans is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Antibiotic-associated diarrhea, Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Diarrhea, Dyspepsia, and more.

Bacillus coagulans has been rated possibly effective for constipation and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The evidence for its use in antibiotic-associated diarrhea, athletic performance, cancer prevention, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is not yet established.

The effectiveness of the Lactobacillus strains and enzymes in this product is not on file in our data.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Bacillus coagulans is generally well tolerated in healthy adults, though the safety evidence varies and product quality can differ. There isn't enough reliable safety data overall — talk to your doctor before using this product.

A rare concern: probiotic products containing live organisms have been linked to infection (bacteremia and sepsis) in patients with central lines, severe illness, or weakened immune systems, including very premature infants. Healthy people with intact immune systems are at much lower risk, but those categories should be cautious.

We don't have pregnancy or breastfeeding safety data on file for any of these ingredients; talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.

Moderate interaction found

Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Bacillus Coagulans.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • For scale: 182 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

If you take antibiotics, separate them from this product — the living organisms in Bacillus coagulans can be killed by antibiotics, which reduces effectiveness. No other medication interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check.

Antibiotic Drugs

Theoretically, taking antibiotics with Bacillus coagulans might decrease the effectiveness of B. coagulans.
B. coagulans preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. coagulans preparations by at least two hours.

TruFloraPro by Master Supplements: Common Questions

Does TruFloraPro by Master Supplements interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, TruFloraPro has a known interaction with 182 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
TruFloraPro contains 5 active ingredients, and an interaction can come from any of them. We check every ingredient, combine the results into one list per medication, and show which ingredient and mechanism is responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Can I take this with my antibiotic?
Not at the same time. Antibiotics will kill the living probiotic organisms, making this product less effective. Take them several hours apart — your pharmacist can help you schedule them. Finish your antibiotic course as directed by your doctor.
What does this do?
Bacillus coagulans in this product has been rated possibly effective for constipation and irritable bowel syndrome. The enzymes help break down certain carbohydrates during digestion. The other Lactobacillus strains are probiotics, but we don't have effectiveness data on them yet.
Is it safe if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
We don't have safety data on file for these ingredients during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist — they can give you personalized advice based on your situation.
What are the side effects?
Bacillus coagulans is generally well tolerated. In rare cases, live probiotic organisms have caused infection in people with weakened immune systems, severe illness, or certain types of medical tubing. Healthy people are at very low risk.
Does it have fillers?
Yes. The product contains inactive ingredients like cellulose, maltodextrin, and magnesium stearate to form the capsule and stabilize the blend.
Can I take it if I'm on multiple medications?
Use the medication checker on this page with your exact drug names and dosages. Antibiotics are the main concern we've documented. For the other ingredients we couldn't check, ask your pharmacist to look them up in their system.
