HelloPharmacist Scorecard of U-Tract Complex Caps by Progressive Professional from Progressive Laboratories
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
U-Tract Complex Caps contains five active ingredients. D-mannose is a simple sugar thought to play a role in urinary tract health.
White Willow bark extract, Salicin, Cratavin, and Flower Pollen Extract round out the formula — each included for their traditional role in supporting urinary function. The capsule itself is made from gelatin with a vegetable lubricant to help it slide down easily.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
D-mannose is likely effective for carbohydrate-deficient glycoprotein syndrome type 1b, a rare genetic condition. For urinary tract infections (UTIs), though, the evidence says it's possibly ineffective — meaning the data we have doesn't show it works well for that use.
We don't have effectiveness ratings for the other four ingredients in this formula, so we can't speak to what evidence exists (or doesn't) for them.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
D-mannose is generally well tolerated in the short term, but long-term safety data are thin, so caution is warranted if you're thinking of using it regularly. The safety data aren't robust enough that we'd recommend it without a doctor's say-so.
The most common side effects are bloating, diarrhea, and nausea — especially at higher doses or with longer use. If you're breastfeeding, safety data for D-mannose are limited, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.
We don't have safety information on file for White Willow bark extract, Flower Pollen Extract, Salicin, or Cratavin.
Meds to double-check
No known interactions
No interactions are documented in our data for the one ingredient we could check. We don't have interaction data for the other four ingredients, so we can't rule anything out — use the medication checker on this page to look up your specific drugs.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.
This product might interest someone looking for urinary tract support, though D-mannose's evidence for UTIs is weak. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you take multiple medications, check with your pharmacist first — we can't verify interactions for most of what's in here.
Long-term use of D-mannose especially deserves a conversation with your doctor.
