Horse chestnut seed extract (when properly processed to remove toxic parts) is generally well tolerated orally, though dizziness, stomach upset, headache, and itching have been reported in a small number of people. Butcher's broom is generally well tolerated short-term, with nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and heartburn the most commonly reported side effects.

Rosemary in food amounts is safe, but concentrated extracts can trigger allergic reactions or, rarely, seizures from the camphor it contains. Stone root in large amounts may cause stomach irritation, nausea, and dizziness.
