🩺 Clinical
Gaviscon is an over-the-counter liquid antacid taken by mouth. It contains aluminum hydroxide and magnesium carbonate, which are commonly used to neutralize stomach acid and provide temporary relief of heartburn and indigestion symptoms. These ingredients work by raising the pH of stomach contents. This product is marketed under the FDA's over-the-counter monograph rules for antacids rather than as an individually reviewed drug application.
