Clinical
This is an over-the-counter oral kit containing fast-dissolving tablets sold under the Alka-Seltzer Cold brand. The kit includes aspirin, which is commonly used to reduce pain and fever, along with chlorpheniramine maleate (an antihistamine typically used to relieve allergy and cold-related sneezing and itching) and dextromethorphan (a cough suppressant). Phenylephrine bitartrate functions as a nasal decongestant. The product is marketed as a monograph OTC drug, meaning it follows FDA's established rules for over-the-counter cold and cough products rather than being individually approved.
