Clinical
This is an over-the-counter oral capsule containing docusate calcium, a stool softener marketed under FDA's OTC monograph rules. Docusate calcium is typically used to soften stool and ease bowel movements in people experiencing occasional constipation or difficulty with hard stools. The liquid-filled capsule form allows the active ingredient to be absorbed and reach the colon, where it works to increase water retention in stool.
