Clinical
Preparation H Rapid Relief is an over-the-counter topical cloth product containing three active ingredients commonly used for temporary relief of hemorrhoid symptoms. Lidocaine functions as a local anesthetic to numb discomfort, while phenylephrine hydrochloride is a decongestant that typically works to reduce swelling and shrink blood vessels in the affected area. Glycerin is included as a lubricant and moisturizer. This is an OTC monograph product, meaning it is marketed under FDA's established rules for this product category.
