Clinical
This is an over-the-counter topical swab containing benzalkonium chloride, a germ-killing agent commonly used in antiseptic and disinfectant products. The swab is typically applied to skin to help reduce bacteria before procedures like injections or minor wound care. Benzalkonium chloride functions as an antimicrobial that is sold under established over-the-counter monograph rules rather than as an individually reviewed drug application.
