Clinical
This is a rectal suppository marketed as an over-the-counter hemorrhoidal relief product under FDA's OTC drug monograph rules. It contains cocoa butter, a fatty base that functions as an emollient and lubricant, and phenylephrine hydrochloride, a decongestant that is typically used to reduce swelling and discomfort in hemorrhoidal tissue. The suppository form is designed for rectal insertion to deliver these ingredients locally to the affected area.
