Clinical
This is an over-the-counter liquid cough and cold product for children taken by mouth. It contains three active ingredients: dextromethorphan hydrobromide, which is typically used to reduce cough; phenylephrine hydrochloride, which is commonly used as a nasal decongestant to relieve stuffy nose; and guaifenesin, an expectorant typically used to help thin mucus so it is easier to cough up. This product is formulated and marketed under FDA's over-the-counter monograph rules for cough and cold medicines.
