Clinical
This is an over-the-counter oral softgel capsule containing docusate sodium, a stool softener. Docusate sodium is typically used to help ease bowel movements and relieve occasional constipation by softening stool. It works as a surfactant that allows water and fats to mix into the stool, making it easier to pass. This product is marketed under the FDA's OTC monograph rules for its category.
