Clinical
This is an oral lozenge cough drop marketed as an over-the-counter monograph product under FDA rules. It contains menthol and pectin in a creamy strawberry-flavored form. Menthol is typically used in lozenges for its soothing sensation in the throat and mouth, while pectin functions as a demulcent, meaning it is commonly used to help coat and soothe throat irritation. This product type is sold without a prescription.
