Clinical
Vicks Formula 44 DM Painful Cough and Sore Throat is an oral liquid (syrup) sold over the counter as a cough and pain reliever. It contains dextromethorphan, a cough suppressant typically used to reduce cough, and acetaminophen, a pain reliever and fever reducer commonly used for minor aches and sore throat discomfort. This is an OTC monograph product, meaning it is marketed under FDA's established rules for over-the-counter cold and cough medicines rather than as an individually reviewed drug application.
