What happens

An increased triglycerides and reduced high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C)

Interaction Deep Dive

Concomitant use of bempedoic acid with fibrates resulted in increased triglycerides and reduced high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). Reversibility of both increased triglycerides and reduced HDL-C levels was observed when either bempedoic acid or fibrate therapy was discontinued. Monitor triglycerides and HDL-C four weeks after initial concomitant use of bempedoic acid and a fibrate and periodically thereafter until levels return to baseline. If increased triglycerides or reduced HDL-C levels are detected, discontinue bempedoic acid or fibrate therapy based on clinical judgment12.
