Altered serum levels of calcifediol

Interaction Deep Dive

Concomitant use of calcifediol and a strong CYP3A inhibitor may inhibit enzymes involved in the metabolism of vitamin D and may alter serum levels of calcifediol. Monitor serum calcium, 25-hydroxyvitamin D, and intact parathyroid hormone levels whenever a patient starts or stops therapy with a strong CYP3A inhibitor. Adjust the dose of calcifediol if necessary¹.
