Avoid the concomitant use of macimorelin with agents that blunt the growth hormone response (eg, muscarinic antagonists such as atropine, antithyroid medication such as propylthiouracil, and growth hormone products), directly affect the pituitary secretion of growth hormone (eg, somatostatin, insulin, glucocorticoids, and cyclooxygenase inhibitors such as aspirin or indomethacin), or transiently elevate growth hormone concentrations (eg, cloNIDine, levodopa, and insulin). A false-positive or false-negative adult growth hormone deficiency diagnosis may result. Allow sufficient washout time for drugs affecting growth hormone release prior to diagnostic testing. Discontinue drugs that may blunt the growth hormone response to macimorelin at least 1 week prior to diagnostic testing1.
