Dr. Brian Staiger, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the short version for your Adderall. One of the enzymes your body uses to clear amphetamine is called CYP2D6. In test-tube studies, AHCC appeared to speed that enzyme up (induce it). If that actually happened in people, it could mean your body clears the amphetamine a little faster, which might make it feel slightly weaker or wear off sooner. So this leans toward a possible reduced effect, not a buildup.

The big caveat: this is only lab-dish data and has never been shown in real patients, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you notice your focus, energy, or symptom control changing after starting AHCC, mention it to your pharmacist or prescriber before adjusting anything.
