Codeine, Papaverine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Active Hexose Correlated Compound (ahcc) interacts with.

Theoretically, AHCC might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
In vitro studies suggest that AHCC might induce the CYP2D6 enzyme. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the wrinkle with codeine: it's actually a prodrug. Your body has to convert it (using an enzyme called CYP2D6) into morphine before you get much pain relief. So anything that speeds up that enzyme could, in theory, produce more morphine faster. The lab data on AHCC hints it might nudge CYP2D6 to work harder.

If that played out in real life, you could see stronger codeine effects, things like more drowsiness, constipation, or slowed breathing. But honestly, this comes only from test-tube studies and has never been shown in actual people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, just to be safe.
