Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Ibuprofen, Oxycodone
Ibuprofen, Oxycodone falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Albizia Julibrissin interacts with.
Some CNS depressants include pentobarbital (Nembutal), phenobarbital (Luminal), secobarbital (Seconal), clonazepam (Klonopin), lorazepam (Ativan), zolpidem (Ambien), and others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Combunox combines ibuprofen with oxycodone, and it's the oxycodone half that matters here. Oxycodone is an opioid that slows down your brain and nervous system. Albizia julibrissin has been studied in animals, where it lengthened sleeping time from a sedative drug. The thinking is that it may add to that same calming, sedating effect.
So if you took this silk tree supplement alongside Combunox, you could feel more drowsy, foggy, or dizzy than usual, and in theory it could deepen oxycodone's slowing of your breathing. I'll be honest, this is based on lab and animal work, not human studies, so it's more of a caution than a proven problem. Still, since opioids already carry real risks, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
