Drug & supplement interaction

Alexander Technique + Tadalafil

Tadalafil brand names: Cialis, Tadliq.

No Known Interaction
The bottom line No known interaction

We found no known interaction between Alexander Technique and Tadalafil in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.

Alexander Technique and Tadalafil

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Tadalafil and Alexander Technique in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Alexander Technique alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Alexander Technique at all — not against Tadalafil, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Alexander Technique is a practice rather than something you take. Ask your care team whether the type and intensity you plan to practice are appropriate for your health and treatment. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

No Interaction Found — But Data Suggests Alexander Technique and Tadalafil May Share a Side Effect

This is not an interaction. Neither one changes how your body handles the other, and nothing here says they react together. What our sources do show is that each has separately been linked to the effects below — so practicing Alexander Technique while taking the medicine can make those effects more likely to turn up, and harder to pin on one or the other if they do.

    Tadalafil

Listed in the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Tadalafil. Read the label on DailyMed ›

Effects for Tadalafil come from the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of its FDA label; effects for Alexander Technique come from the Natural Medicines adverse-effect record, quoted above. Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 98,103 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Tadalafil that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Wording is matched across sources by our own clinical vocabulary, so treat this as a prompt to pay attention, not a diagnosis.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Tadalafil

This page covers Alexander Technique only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Tadalafil page lists 144 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.

The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), American Mistletoe (major), Grapefruit (major), Hawthorn (major) and St. John's Wort (major).

By severity: 5 major · 98 moderate · 41 minor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Tadalafil page

“Grapefruit juice is the first thing to know about if you take tadalafil (Cialis, Tadliq). It blocks CYP3A4, the enzyme that clears the drug, so blood levels climb and side effects like a steep drop in blood pressure become more likely.”

About Alexander Technique

What is Alexander Technique?

  • Chronic back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Posture improvement
  • Balance and coordination
  • Performance (musicians, actors, athletes)
  • General tension and stress

The Alexander Technique is a hands-on educational method that teaches you to release unnecessary muscle tension and move with better posture and balance. It is not a herb, supplement, or pill — it is learned through lessons with a trained teacher. The strongest evidence supports it for chronic back and neck pain, and it is generally considered very safe.

Not applicable — this is a movement and posture education method, not a plant or supplement · One-on-one or group lessons with a certified Alexander Technique teacher

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Alexander Technique is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Alexander Technique record says about it on its own.

Alexander Technique: dosing

There is no pill or standard "dose" for the Alexander Technique because it is a learned skill, not a substance. Instead, people take a series of lessons with a certified teacher. The number of lessons varies from person to person. Some studies of back pain have used a series of lessons over several weeks, often around 20 or more, but your teacher will recommend what fits your goals and budget.Look for a teacher certified by a recognized professional body. Since this is not a supplement, there is no product label to follow — your teacher's guidance is your main resource.
