Ethinyl Estradiol, Drospirenone falls under ESTROGENS — the group Androstenedione interacts with.

Theoretically, androstenedione might increase the effects and adverse effects of estrogens.
Androstenedione is a precursor to estrogen and seems to increase estrogen levels. However, androstenedione is converted to estrogen only in low estrogen environments. Patients taking estrogen do not have low estrogen levels because of the estrogen treatment. Therefore, androstenedione is unlikely to be converted to estrogen in these patients. However, until more is known, use with caution or avoid using.

Here's the thinking on combining androstenedione with Yaz (ethinyl estradiol and drospirenone). Your body can turn androstenedione into estrogen, so in theory it could add to the estrogen you're already getting from your birth control. Stacking extra estrogen on top could, in principle, nudge up estrogen-related side effects like breast tenderness, nausea, bloating, headaches, or mood changes, and estrogen also carries a small risk of blood clots.

That said, this is a theoretical concern based on how the hormones work, not on real-world studies. Androstenedione mostly converts to estrogen when your own estrogen is low, and on Yaz it isn't. So the actual effect is probably small. Still, since androstenedione has real risks and little proven benefit, I'd skip it and check with your pharmacist or doctor first.
