What Is Plecanatide Used For?

Brand name: Trulance

Trulance (plecanatide) is approved for adults to treat two conditions: chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC) — ongoing constipation with no clear underlying cause — and irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C), which combines bowel discomfort with infrequent or difficult stools.

Trulance is not approved for use in anyone under 18 years of age, and it is strictly contraindicated in children under 6.
