Autogenic Training + Methadone
Methadone brand name: Dolophine.
We found no known interaction between Autogenic Training and Methadone in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Autogenic Training and Methadone
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Methadone and Autogenic Training in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Autogenic Training alongside specific medications may be limited.
Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Autogenic Training at all — not against Methadone, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.
Autogenic Training is a practice rather than something you take. Ask your care team whether the type and intensity you plan to practice are appropriate for your health and treatment. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Questions About Autogenic Training or Methadone
These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. Each one covers Autogenic Training or Methadone, not necessarily both, but if one is close to what you were about to ask it will usually go further than a database entry can:
- Can Benadryl Cause A Positive Drug Test Result For Tramadol? ›
- Took More Methadone And Now I'm Short ›
Not quite your question? Ask our pharmacists directly — it is free, there is no account required, and answers usually come back within 24 hours.
See Every Supplement That Interacts With Methadone
This page covers Autogenic Training only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Methadone page lists 223 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: 1,4-butanediol (major), Activated Charcoal (major), Beer (major), Gamma-hydroxybutyrate (ghb) (major) and Grapefruit (major).
By severity: 10 major · 174 moderate · 39 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Methadone page
“If you take methadone, choose your supplements with genuine care. Of the 223 ingredients on this page, most either add to methadone's sedating effect or change how fast your body clears it, which can push its blood level up or down.”

Where Autogenic Training and Methadone Sit Against Everything Else
Out of every supplement and medication people look up on HelloPharmacist, here is where these two land this week — and which way each has been moving.
#1,199 of 1,452 supplements looked up here in the last 7 days
#546 of 2,830 medications looked up here in the last 7 days
Position among everything looked up on this site, not a measure of how commonly either one is used or how important it is. A supplement can climb this list because of a news story. It counts every request to the page, automated ones included, and nothing here identifies anyone.
Where does our data come from?
- Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions.
- Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Autogenic Training reference on this page ↓
- Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 27, 2026. The Autogenic Training and Methadone records this page draws on were last updated June 22, 2026.
- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Autogenic Training
What is Autogenic Training?
- Stress and tension
- Anxiety
- Trouble sleeping
- High blood pressure
- Headaches and chronic pain
- Calming the body before stressful events
Autogenic training is a relaxation technique that uses self-directed phrases to create feelings of warmth, heaviness, and calm in the body. It is generally safe for most people and may help with stress, anxiety, and sleep, though the quality of research is mixed. It is best learned from a trained instructor and is not a replacement for medical treatment.
Not applicable (a mind-body relaxation technique, not a plant or supplement) · Guided audio recordings, classes with a trained therapist, self-practice scripts, smartphone apps
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Autogenic Training is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Autogenic Training record says about it on its own.
Autogenic Training: dosing
There is no pill or measured "dose" for autogenic training. Instead, it is about regular practice. Many programs suggest practicing for a few minutes, once or several times a day, building up gradually as the technique becomes more natural. It is often best to learn the steps from a trained therapist, a structured program, or a reputable guided recording or app. Follow the instructions provided with your program.
From our Autogenic Training monograph — the full record covers uses, side effects and every documented interaction.
About Methadone
What Is Methadone Used For?
Brand name: Dolophine
Methadone treats two main problems. Some products are used for severe, persistent pain that needs daily, around-the-clock opioid treatment when other options are not adequate. Some products are used for opioid addiction (heroin or other morphine-like drugs), as detoxification or as maintenance treatment along with social and medical services.
Not every product is approved for every use. Methadone tablets, oral solution and oral concentrate (Intensol) list both pain and opioid addiction. Diskets, Methadose Dispersible tablets and the Methadose and Methadone Hydrocloride oral concentrates are labeled only for opioid addiction. Methadone injection is for severe pain, and for short-term treatment of opioid dependence in people who cannot take medicine by mouth, such as hospitalized patients. It is not approved for outpatient opioid dependence treatment. Methadone is not meant to be used as an as-needed pain reliever.
