Bioenergetics and Diltiazem

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Diltiazem and Bioenergetics in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Bioenergetics at all — not against Diltiazem, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Bioenergetics safety at a glance

Bioenergetics overall Not established Because 'bioenergetics' covers many different products and practices, no single safety profile applies.
Pregnancy Use caution Avoid unproven supplement blends or programs during pregnancy unless cleared by your doctor.
Breastfeeding Use caution Safety is not established, so use caution and check with your doctor first.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

What Diltiazem’s Own FDA Label Lists

This is not an interaction — none of it involves Bioenergetics. These are the most notable effects listed in the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Diltiazem’s own FDA label, for the medication by itself. Knowing the drug’s own list makes it easier to work out the likely cause if something new turns up while you take both. 10 of them are worth acting on rather than waiting out — marked below.

  • Bleeding in the gut Worth acting on
  • A slow heartbeat Worth acting on
  • Shortness of breath Worth acting on mentioned in 9.6% of FDA reports for Diltiazem
  • Fainting Worth acting on
  • An irregular heartbeat Worth acting on
  • A severe skin reaction Worth acting on
  • Chest pain Worth acting on
  • Kidney problems Worth acting on
  • Raised blood pressure Worth acting on
  • Hives Worth acting on

Showing the 10 most notable of 41 label-listed effects — ranked by how unusual each one is across medicines generally, with serious effects weighted up.

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Diltiazem. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 34,400 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Diltiazem that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Bioenergetics’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Bioenergetics side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Bioenergetics has no side effects.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Diltiazem page

“Someone on diltiazem (Cardizem, Tiazac) is usually managing blood pressure, angina, or a fast heart rhythm, so this list deserves genuine care. Seven of the 260 ingredients on file carry a major rating, and two of those are things people actually buy: grapefruit, which blocks the enzyme that clears diltiazem and can push its blood leve…”

Where does our data come from?
  • Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions. Bioenergetics is not yet covered by that licensed database, so its write-up cites publicly available medical sources directly (see the references below).
  • Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Bioenergetics reference on this page ↓
  • Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 20, 2026. The Bioenergetics and Diltiazem records this page draws on were last updated June 22, 2026.
  • What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.

About Bioenergetics

What is Bioenergetics?

  • General wellness and energy
  • Stress and emotional balance
  • Fatigue and low energy
  • Detox or 'energy balancing' programs
  • Complementary support for chronic symptoms

"Bioenergetics" is not a single herb or supplement — it is a broad term used for the study of energy flow in living cells and, separately, for a range of alternative wellness practices and products that claim to balance the body's "energy." There is no standardized product, dose, or strong clinical evidence behind the commercial "bioenergetic" treatments, so be cautious and talk with your pharmacist or doctor before spending money or replacing proven care.

Not applicable — Bioenergetics is not a plant or single substance · Therapy or wellness program; sometimes marketed with supplement blends, drops, or devices

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Bioenergetics is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Bioenergetics record says about it on its own.

Bioenergetics: dosing

There is no standardized or evidence-based dose for "bioenergetics," because it is not a single substance. Any dosing instructions come from the individual product's maker, not from established clinical research. If you choose to try a product labeled "bioenergetic," follow the directions on the label and do not exceed them. More importantly, bring the product to your pharmacist so they can review the actual ingredients and check for safety concerns.

Some capsule formulations, including Cartia, Cartia XT, and certain generics, are also approved for angina due to coronary artery spasm (sudden chest pain caused by a sudden tightening of a coronary artery).

Injectable forms of diltiazem are used in hospital settings to temporarily slow a dangerously fast heart rate in atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter (rapid, irregular heart rhythms), and to restore a normal heart rhythm in paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT) — sudden episodes of a very fast but regular heartbeat originating above the heart's lower chambers.
