Blood Type Diet and Aztreonam

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Aztreonam and Blood Type Diet in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Blood Type Diet alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Blood Type Diet at all — not against Aztreonam, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Blood Type Diet is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Blood Type Diet safety at a glance

Pregnancy Use caution Restrictive eating plans may limit needed nutrients during pregnancy; check with your doctor first.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Aztreonam. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 7,148 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Aztreonam that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Blood Type Diet’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Blood Type Diet side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Blood Type Diet has no side effects.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Aztreonam page

“Every entry on this page tells one story, and it is a gentler one than most interaction lists. Aztreonam (Azactam) is an injectable or inhaled antibiotic used for serious infections, often in people with cystic fibrosis, and none of these 27 supplement pairings makes the drug itself riskier or weaker.”

About Blood Type Diet

What is Blood Type Diet?

  • Weight loss
  • General wellness
  • Heart health
  • Digestive health
  • Reducing inflammation

The Blood Type Diet claims that eating foods matched to your ABO blood type improves health and weight, but good-quality studies have not shown that blood type determines who benefits from a given diet. Any health improvements people see are more likely from simply eating more whole, unprocessed foods. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before making big changes, especially if you have a health condition.

Eating plan (whole-food diet based on ABO blood type)

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Blood Type Diet is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Blood Type Diet record says about it on its own.

Blood Type Diet: dosing

There is no "dose" for the Blood Type Diet — it is an eating pattern, not a pill. Followers are given food lists for their blood type and adjust meals accordingly. If you want to try it, focus on the healthy parts (more whole foods, fewer processed foods) and make sure you still get a full range of nutrients. A pharmacist, doctor, or registered dietitian can help you plan a balanced version and decide whether any supplement, such as a multivitamin, is needed.
