Burr Marigold and Clomiphene

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Clomiphene and Burr Marigold in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Burr Marigold at all — not against Clomiphene, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Clomiphene page

“Clomiphene (Clomid, Serophene) is taken as a short, precisely timed course to trigger ovulation, so anything that weakens a dose can cost someone trying to conceive a whole cycle. That is why the 17 supplements listed here deserve genuine care, since every one of them can change how much of the pill the gut actually absorbs.”

About Burr Marigold

What is Burr Marigold?

Burr Marigold
  • Minor wounds and skin irritation
  • Mild urinary complaints
  • Digestive upset
  • Coughs and colds
  • General 'cleansing' or diuretic effect

Burr Marigold (Bidens tripartita) is a wetland plant used in traditional medicine for wounds, urinary complaints, and digestive issues, but high-quality human research is lacking. Because its effectiveness and safety have not been well studied, it should be used cautiously, and avoided in pregnancy, breastfeeding, and in young children. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before trying it.

Bidens tripartita · Asteraceae · Above-ground parts (herb), including leaves, stems, and flowering tops · Tea (dried herb infusion), tincture, liquid extract, dried herb

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Burr Marigold is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Burr Marigold record says about it on its own.

Burr Marigold: dosing

There is no established standard dose for Burr Marigold. Traditional use has involved teas made from the dried herb, as well as tinctures and liquid extracts, but reliable dosing guidelines from clinical research do not exist. If you choose to use a commercial product, follow the directions on the label and do not exceed the recommended amount.

About Clomiphene

What Is Clomiphene Used For?

Brand names: Serophene, Clomid

Clomiphene tablets are indicated for women who are not ovulating normally and want to become pregnant. It is most likely to help women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), amenorrhea-galactorrhea syndrome, psychogenic amenorrhea, post-oral-contraceptive amenorrhea, and certain cases of secondary amenorrhea (absent periods of unknown cause).

Before starting treatment, other barriers to pregnancy — such as thyroid disorders, adrenal disorders, high prolactin levels, or male factor infertility — must be ruled out or treated. Clomiphene is not recommended for use in combination with other ovulation-inducing drugs or for IVF programs, and it is not approved for treating male infertility.
