Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Flibanserin
Flibanserin falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Cannabichromene (cbc) interacts with.
Animal research shows that cannabichromene, given as a single dose intraperitoneally, increases the sedative response to the drugs hexobarbital, barbital, and zoxazolamine. However, this effect was not maintained when cannabichromene was given continuously. After receiving cannabichromene daily for 7 days, the sedative effect of these drugs was reduced when compared with a control group or a single dose of cannabichromene.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: Flibanserin (Addyi) already has a calming, sedating side, and it can make you sleepy, dizzy, or lightheaded, especially when you first take it at bedtime. Pairing it with CBC, which is being studied for its own relaxing, nervous-system effects, could in theory stack those effects and leave you more drowsy or unsteady than usual. That matters because feeling faint and low blood pressure are already known concerns with flibanserin.
I want to be honest about how thin the evidence is. This warning comes from animal lab studies only, not real people, and even there the sedation faded with repeated dosing. Flibanserin is not a prodrug, so this is about overlapping sedation, not changing the drug itself. Still, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
