Here's the thing to keep in mind: dasiglucagon (Zegalogue) is your emergency rescue medicine. You use it to raise a dangerously low blood sugar, not to lower it. Carnosine works in the opposite direction. Some early research hints it might nudge fasting blood sugar down a little, which in theory could make low blood sugar slightly more likely or harder to bounce back from.

I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern based on how things work in the lab, not strong human proof, and carnosine doesn't block how Zegalogue itself does its job. Carnosine is more of a day-to-day glucose question than a rescue-injection question. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your overall control.

Carnosine is a naturally occurring dipeptide (made of beta-alanine and histidine) that acts as an antioxidant and buffer in muscle and brain. It is sold as an anti-aging and performance supplement, but human evidence for most uses is limited, and many studies actually use beta-alanine, its precursor. What Is Dasiglucagon Injection Used For?

Brand name: Zegalogue

Zegalogue (dasiglucagon) is used to treat severe hypoglycemia — dangerously low blood sugar — in adults and children aged 6 years and older who have diabetes. It is a rescue medication meant to be used in emergencies when a person cannot eat or drink to raise their blood sugar on their own.

Zegalogue is available as a subcutaneous (under-the-skin) injection and is given by a caregiver or the patient themselves as soon as severe hypoglycemia is recognized. Emergency medical help should be called immediately after using it.
