Cyclobenzaprine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Dandelion interacts with.

Theoretically, dandelion might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
Laboratory research suggests that dandelion might inhibit CYP1A2. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. However, until more is known, watch for an increase in the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 in patients taking dandelion.

Here's the gist: your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP1A2 to help clear cyclobenzaprine. In lab studies, dandelion appears to slow that enzyme down. If that held true in people, cyclobenzaprine could hang around longer and build up, which might bump up its usual effects like drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, and feeling foggy or unsteady.

The honest part: this is only test-tube research, and nothing like it has actually been seen in humans. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it, especially with food amounts of dandelion. If you're taking a concentrated dandelion supplement, just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads up before mixing the two, and watch for extra sleepiness.

What Is Cyclobenzaprine Used For?

Brand names: Cyclobenzaprine, Flexeril, Cycloprine

Cyclobenzaprine tablets and extended-release capsules are used alongside rest and physical therapy to relieve muscle spasm caused by acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions — easing pain, tenderness, and limited movement. This use is intended for short-term treatment only (up to 2–3 weeks).

Tonmya, the sublingual (under-the-tongue) form of cyclobenzaprine, is separately indicated for the treatment of fibromyalgia in adults. It is not the same as the oral tablet or capsule formulations.
