Dandelion + Minocycline
Minocycline brand names: Vectrin, Dynacin, Minocin, Minocin IV, Solodyn, and others.
Dandelion has a moderate interaction with Minocycline. Theoretically, taking dandelion root along with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs might increase the risk of bruising and bleeding.

ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Minocycline
Minocycline falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Dandelion interacts with.
In vitro research suggests that dandelion root inhibits platelet aggregation.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the honest picture: the interaction in our database is really about dandelion plus blood thinners, where dandelion might add a little to bleeding or bruising risk. Minocycline isn't a blood thinner, so this particular concern doesn't line up well with how minocycline actually works. It's an antibiotic that fights bacteria, not a drug that affects your platelets or clotting.
On top of that, this is only based on lab (in vitro) research, not studies in people, so even for true blood thinners the evidence is weak. With minocycline, the more common things to watch for are stomach upset, dizziness, and sun sensitivity. If you take an actual blood thinner alongside, mention dandelion to your pharmacist, but pairing it with minocycline isn't a known problem.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Minocycline page
“This is one of the longer interaction lists I review, and with minocycline it earns real care rather than a shrug. Most entries pair this tetracycline antibiotic, taken for acne and other infections, with supplements that raise bleeding risk, and a second sizable group, beer and wine included, can add strain on the liver.”

About Dandelion
What is Dandelion?
- Water retention (diuretic)
- Digestive upset
- Liver and gallbladder support
- Mild appetite stimulant
- Skin conditions
Dandelion is a common plant used in food and traditional medicine, often promoted as a natural 'water pill' and digestive aid. Human evidence for these uses is very limited, so its benefits are not well proven. It is generally considered safe as a food, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated supplements, especially if you have allergies or take other medicines.
About Minocycline
What Is Minocycline Used For?
Brand names: Vectrin, Dynacin, Minocin, Minocin IV, Solodyn, Acnamino MR, Minocin MR, Sebomin MR, Aknemin, Arestin Miscrosperes, Amzeeq, Zilxi
Oral and intravenous minocycline products treat many serious bacterial infections, including Rocky Mountain spotted fever, respiratory tract infections, sexually transmitted infections such as lymphogranuloma venereum and nongonococcal urethritis, plague, cholera, brucellosis, tularemia, and others caused by susceptible organisms. MINOCIN Intravenous is used when oral therapy is not adequate or tolerated.
Extended-release oral minocycline tablets are indicated specifically for inflammatory lesions of moderate to severe acne vulgaris in patients 12 years and older — not for treating infections. AMZEEQ (topical foam) treats inflammatory lesions of moderate to severe acne vulgaris in patients 9 years and older. ZILXI (topical foam) and EMROSI (oral capsule) are indicated for inflammatory lesions of rosacea in adults. ARESTIN (oral powder placed by a dental professional) is used alongside scaling and root planing to reduce pocket depth in adult periodontitis.
