Amcinonide falls under TOPICAL DRUGS — the group Dimethylsulfoxide (dmso) interacts with.

Topical DMSO might increase the effects and adverse effects of topical drugs.
Evidence from animal studies and limited human studies suggests that DMSO may potentiate the action of numerous topical medications by increasing their absorption through the skin. This increase in absorption seems to depend on the concentration of DMSO and the molecular weight of the medication.

Amcinonide is a fairly strong steroid cream you put on the skin to calm down redness, itching, and inflammation from things like eczema or psoriasis. DMSO is interesting because it acts like a 'carrier' that helps other substances soak through the skin more easily. So if you apply DMSO over or near the same area where you use amcinonide, more of the steroid may get absorbed than your skin would normally let in.

The practical concern is that more steroid going in can mean more of the typical local side effects: thinning skin, stretch marks, easy bruising, acne-like bumps, or lightened patches. With larger areas or stronger DMSO concentrations, enough could absorb to affect the rest of the body. This is based on limited human and animal data, so it is a real but not certain risk. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
