Here's the simple version: Doxidan already contains casanthranol, which is a stimulant laxative, plus docusate, a stool softener. European Buckthorn is also a stimulant laxative from the same anthraquinone family. So when you pair them, you're essentially doubling up on the same job. That can push your bowels harder than intended.

The realistic concern is too much of a good thing: heavy cramping, watery diarrhea, and losing fluid and important electrolytes like potassium. That can leave you dehydrated, weak, or lightheaded. This is a theoretical caution based on how both products work, not strong human studies, so don't panic. Still, there's no real benefit to stacking two stimulant laxatives. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
