Fat Smash Diet + Phenelzine Sulfate
Phenelzine Sulfate brand name: Nardil.
We found no known interaction between Fat Smash Diet and Phenelzine Sulfate in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Fat Smash Diet and Phenelzine Sulfate
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Phenelzine Sulfate and Fat Smash Diet in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Fat Smash Diet alongside specific medications may be limited.
Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Fat Smash Diet at all — not against Phenelzine Sulfate, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.
Fat Smash Diet is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

By severity: 18 major · 111 moderate · 15 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Phenelzine Sulfate page
“Few medications demand as much dietary and supplement care as phenelzine sulfate (Nardil), an older MAOI antidepressant, and this list backs that up, with 18 of its 144 recorded interactions rated major. The two dominant themes are sedation and blood pressure.”

Where Fat Smash Diet and Phenelzine Sulfate Sit Against Everything Else
Out of every supplement and medication people look up on HelloPharmacist, here is where these two land this week — and which way each has been moving.
#1,346 of 1,452 supplements looked up here in the last 7 days
#1,260 of 2,830 medications looked up here in the last 7 days
Position among everything looked up on this site, not a measure of how commonly either one is used or how important it is. A supplement can climb this list because of a news story. It counts every request to the page, automated ones included, and nothing here identifies anyone.
Where does our data come from?
- Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions. Fat Smash Diet is not yet covered by that licensed database, so its write-up cites publicly available medical sources directly (see the references below).
- Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Fat Smash Diet reference on this page ↓
- Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 27, 2026. The Fat Smash Diet and Phenelzine Sulfate records this page draws on were last updated June 22, 2026.
- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Fat Smash Diet
What is Fat Smash Diet?
- Weight loss
- Building healthier eating habits
- Reducing processed food intake
- Jump-starting a lifestyle change
The Fat Smash Diet is a phased weight-loss eating plan, not a supplement or herb. It promotes whole foods, portion control, and gradual habit change, which can help some people lose weight, but it works best alongside regular exercise and long-term lifestyle changes. Talk with your doctor or a dietitian before starting any restrictive diet.
Structured eating plan (book, meal programs)
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Fat Smash Diet is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Fat Smash Diet record says about it on its own.
Fat Smash Diet: dosing
There is no pill, tea, or capsule dose for the Fat Smash Diet because it is an eating plan, not a supplement. "Dosing" instead means following the plan's phases and food guidelines. If you choose to try it, follow the instructions in the official book or program, and aim for balanced meals with enough protein, fiber, and nutrients. A registered dietitian can help you adjust the plan to your calorie needs and health goals.

About Phenelzine
What Is Phenelzine Used For?
Brand name: Nardil
Phenelzine is used to treat depression — specifically the types described as atypical, nonendogenous, or neurotic depression. This often includes people who have a mix of anxiety and depression, or who have phobic or hypochondriacal features (strong fears about illness or physical symptoms).
It is generally not the first antidepressant a doctor will try. It is best suited for patients who have already tried other antidepressants without enough relief. There is less evidence supporting its use in severe depression with classic biological features (called endogenous depression).
Most-Reported Side Effects for Phenelzine Sulfate
From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (1,563 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.

Phenelzine Sulfate Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Phenelzine Sulfate as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Fat Smash Diet — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
