Feingold Diet and Galantamine

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Galantamine and Feingold Diet in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Feingold Diet alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Feingold Diet at all — not against Galantamine, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Feingold Diet is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

  • Memory problems Worth acting on mentioned in 20.8% of FDA reports for Galantamine

Showing the 10 most notable of 17 label-listed effects — ranked by how unusual each one is across medicines generally, with serious effects weighted up.

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Galantamine. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 3,188 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Galantamine that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Feingold Diet’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Feingold Diet side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Feingold Diet has no side effects.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Galantamine page

“Galantamine (Razadyne) treats Alzheimer's disease, so it is often a caregiver filling the pill organizer alongside memory supplements and morning juice. That pairing deserves genuine care, because three of the 170 supplement ingredients on file are rated major and two of them are everyday items.”

About Feingold Diet

What is Feingold Diet?

  • Hyperactivity (ADHD) in children
  • Behavioral problems in kids
  • Attention and focus concerns
  • Childhood sleep and mood issues

The Feingold Diet is an elimination eating plan that removes certain artificial food colors, flavors, sweeteners, preservatives, and some natural salicylate-containing foods, mainly to reduce hyperactivity in children. Scientific evidence is mixed and limited, though a small number of children may be sensitive to specific food additives. If you try it, work with a pediatrician or registered dietitian so your child still gets balanced nutrition.

Elimination diet / structured eating plan

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Feingold Diet is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Feingold Diet record says about it on its own.

Feingold Diet: dosing

There is no pill or standardized "dose" for the Feingold Diet — it is a pattern of eating. It is typically done in phases: a stricter starting period that removes targeted additives and salicylate-rich foods, followed by gradual reintroduction to identify specific triggers.Because the diet can be complex and restrictive, it is best to follow program guidance and work with a registered dietitian or pediatrician to make sure your child's overall diet stays balanced.

What Is Galantamine Used For?

Brand names: Reminyl, Razadyne

Galantamine — available as extended-release capsules, tablets, and an oral solution — is used to treat mild to moderate dementia caused by Alzheimer's disease. All supported formulations share this indication.

It does not cure or slow the underlying disease, but it can help support cognitive function in people with early to moderate-stage Alzheimer's. Its benefits may lessen as the disease progresses and more brain cells are lost.
