Glossy Privet + Desmopressin Acetate
Desmopressin Acetate brand names: DDAVP, Noctiva, Nocdurna.
We found no known interaction between Glossy Privet and Desmopressin Acetate in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Glossy Privet and Desmopressin Acetate
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Desmopressin Acetate and Glossy Privet in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Desmopressin Acetate
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Desmopressin Acetate is filed under a single classification — oral drugs. Glossy Privet has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being lithium (moderate) — and none of Desmopressin Acetate’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Desmopressin Acetate page
“Every one of the 17 supplements flagged for desmopressin acetate (DDAVP, Nocdurna, Noctiva) works the same basic way, by changing how much of the drug is absorbed from the gut, and that deserves real attention. Desmopressin controls urine output in diabetes insipidus and nighttime urination, and only a small fraction of an oral dose re…”

About Glossy Privet
What is Glossy Privet?
- Liver and kidney support in traditional medicine
- Immune support
- Anti-aging and general tonic
- Blurred vision and dizziness
- Premature graying of hair
Glossy Privet (Ligustrum lucidum) is a fruit long used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, often combined with other herbs as a liver and kidney 'tonic.' Most of the research is from laboratory and animal studies, so its benefits in people are not well proven. Because human safety data are limited, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Ligustrum lucidum · Oleaceae · Ripe fruit (berries) · Dried fruit, decoctions (teas), powders, capsules, tinctures, and herbal formulas
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Glossy Privet is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Glossy Privet record says about it on its own.
Glossy Privet: dosing
There is no well-established, standardized dose of Glossy Privet for any condition. Traditional use is usually as part of a multi-herb decoction or formula prepared by a practitioner, rather than as a single supplement.Because products vary widely in strength and quality, the safest approach is to follow the directions on the product label and not exceed the recommended amount.

About Desmopressin
What Is Desmopressin Used For?
Brand names: DDAVP, Noctiva, Nocdurna
Desmopressin is used for central diabetes insipidus, a condition where the body doesn't make enough antidiuretic hormone and produces too much urine. It also treats the temporary extreme thirst and urination that can follow head trauma or pituitary surgery (tablets and injection).
Some products are used for bleeding disorders. Desmopressin injection and Stimate nasal spray are used for mild-to-moderate hemophilia A and von Willebrand’s disease (Type I). Desmopressin and Ddavp tablets are also used for primary nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting). It does not work for nephrogenic diabetes insipidus, where the kidneys don't respond to the hormone.
