Gluten-free Diet + Rituximab
Rituximab brand name: Rituxan.
We found no known interaction between Gluten-free Diet and Rituximab in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Gluten-free Diet and Rituximab
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Rituximab and Gluten-free Diet in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Gluten-free Diet alongside specific medications may be limited.
Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Gluten-free Diet at all — not against Rituximab, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.
Gluten-free Diet is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.
See Every Supplement That Interacts With Rituximab
This page covers Gluten-free Diet only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Rituximab page lists 53 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Active Hexose Correlated Compound (ahcc) (moderate), Alfalfa (moderate), American Ginseng (moderate), Andrographis (moderate) and Ashwagandha (moderate).
By severity: 52 moderate · 1 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Rituximab page
“Rituximab (Rituxan) works by knocking down part of the immune system, clearing out the B cells that drive lymphomas, leukemias, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. All 53 supplements here interact the same way, showing some evidence of stimulating immune activity that could in theory blunt what the drug is trying to do.”

Where Gluten-free Diet and Rituximab Sit Against Everything Else
Out of every supplement and medication people look up on HelloPharmacist, here is where these two land this week — and which way each has been moving.
#1,366 of 1,452 supplements looked up here in the last 7 days
#463 of 2,830 medications looked up here in the last 7 days
Position among everything looked up on this site, not a measure of how commonly either one is used or how important it is. A supplement can climb this list because of a news story. It counts every request to the page, automated ones included, and nothing here identifies anyone.
Where does our data come from?
- Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions. Gluten-free Diet is not yet covered by that licensed database, so its write-up cites publicly available medical sources directly (see the references below).
- Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Gluten-free Diet reference on this page ↓
- Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 13, 2026. The Gluten-free Diet and Rituximab records this page draws on were last updated July 10, 2026.
- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Gluten-free Diet
What is Gluten-free Diet?
- Celiac disease
- Non-celiac gluten sensitivity
- Wheat allergy
- Dermatitis herpetiformis
- Digestive symptoms like bloating or diarrhea
A gluten-free diet removes wheat, barley, rye, and related grains. It is the proven, necessary treatment for celiac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis, and it helps some people with wheat allergy or non-celiac gluten sensitivity. For people without these conditions, there is no strong evidence that going gluten-free improves health, so talk with your doctor before making big diet changes.
Whole-food eating pattern; gluten-free packaged foods, flours, and breads
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Gluten-free Diet is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Gluten-free Diet record says about it on its own.
Gluten-free Diet: dosing
A gluten-free diet is not a pill, so there is no "dose." Instead, the goal for people who need it is to completely avoid gluten from wheat, barley, rye, and related grains, including hidden sources in sauces, processed foods, and even some medicines and supplements.Look for products labeled certified gluten-free, and read ingredient lists carefully. Working with a registered dietitian is the best way to follow the diet correctly while keeping your nutrition balanced.

About Rituximab Injection
What Is Rituximab Injection Used For?
Brand name: Rituxan
Rituximab is used to treat a range of blood cancers and immune-driven diseases. In cancer care, it targets certain types of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL) and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) — both in adults and, for some lymphomas, in children as young as 6 months old.
Beyond cancer, rituximab is also approved for moderately-to-severely active Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) in adults who haven't responded well to other treatments, as well as for two rare inflammatory blood vessel diseases — Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (GPA) and Microscopic Polyangiitis (MPA) — and for a serious skin blistering condition called Pemphigus Vulgaris (PV).
Most-Reported Side Effects for Rituximab
From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (220,214 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.
