Theoretically, gum arabic can alter the absorption of oral drugs due to its fiber content.
Gum arabic has been used as a suspending osmotic agent in drug formulations. It might improve bioavailability of water-insoluble drugs like naproxen, but reduce absorption of polar drugs like amoxicillin. To avoid changes in absorption, take gum arabic 30-60 minutes after oral medications.

Here's some good news that should put your mind at ease. Methacholine (Provocholine) isn't a pill you swallow, it's a mist you breathe in during a lung function test at a doctor's office or clinic. The whole point is to see whether your airways tighten up, which helps diagnose asthma. Because it's inhaled and given under medical supervision, it never mixes in your stomach with a fiber supplement like gum arabic.

The interaction on file is about gum arabic possibly slowing or changing how oral drugs are absorbed from the gut. Since methacholine doesn't take that route, this concern really doesn't apply here. Still, before any breathing test, tell the staff about every supplement you take, and check with your pharmacist if you have questions.
