Flurazepam falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group Gum Arabic interacts with.

Theoretically, gum arabic can alter the absorption of oral drugs due to its fiber content.
Gum arabic has been used as a suspending osmotic agent in drug formulations. It might improve bioavailability of water-insoluble drugs like naproxen, but reduce absorption of polar drugs like amoxicillin. To avoid changes in absorption, take gum arabic 30-60 minutes after oral medications.

Here's the gist with flurazepam and gum arabic. Gum arabic is a soluble fiber, and like other fibers it can bind to medications in your stomach and gut. The concern is purely about timing and absorption, not about how your body breaks the drug down. Flurazepam is not a prodrug, so this is just a 'how much gets in' question.

If they're swallowed together, the fiber could grab onto some of the flurazepam and you might absorb a little less, meaning a weaker effect (you may not fall asleep as easily). Keep in mind this is mostly theoretical and not strongly proven. An easy fix is to space them out, taking gum arabic about 30 to 60 minutes after your flurazepam. Run it by your pharmacist to be safe.

Flurazepam Hydrochloride capsules are used to treat insomnia. Specifically, they help with difficulty falling asleep, frequent wake-ups during the night, and early morning awakening.

Because insomnia is often short-lived, flurazepam is generally intended for short-term use. If sleep problems don't improve within 7 to 10 days of treatment, a healthcare provider should evaluate whether an underlying medical or psychiatric condition may be the cause.
