Here's the thing to know: both flurazepam and GHB are powerful brain depressants. Flurazepam (Dalmane) is a benzodiazepine that slows brain activity to help you sleep, and GHB does much the same job through a different door. When you stack two sedatives like this, their calming effects don't just add up, they can pile on top of each other.

Together they can push you into dangerous over-sedation: deep grogginess, confusion, slurred speech, slowed or stopped breathing, and at worst coma. That's a real safety concern, not just feeling extra sleepy. GHB sold outside of a pharmacy is especially risky and unpredictable. Please don't combine these, and talk with your doctor or pharmacist before mixing flurazepam with anything sedating.

GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate) is a powerful central nervous system depressant that is NOT a safe dietary supplement. In the U.S. it is a controlled substance, and only a tightly regulated prescription form (sodium oxybate) is legal for narcolepsy. Non-prescription GHB can cause coma, breathing failure, and death, and it is also a known 'date-rape' drug — it should not be taken outside of medical supervision.

What Is Flurazepam Used For?

Flurazepam Hydrochloride capsules are used to treat insomnia. Specifically, they help with difficulty falling asleep, frequent wake-ups during the night, and early morning awakening.

Because insomnia is often short-lived, flurazepam is generally intended for short-term use. If sleep problems don't improve within 7 to 10 days of treatment, a healthcare provider should evaluate whether an underlying medical or psychiatric condition may be the cause.
