Here's the bottom line: both buprenorphine and GHB slow down your central nervous system. Buprenorphine is an opioid that calms breathing and brain activity, and GHB is a powerful sedative that does the very same thing. Stack the two together and those effects can pile up, pushing you toward heavy drowsiness, confusion, very slow or shallow breathing, and in a worst case, unconsciousness or stopped breathing.

This isn't about one drug changing how the other is broken down. It's about two depressants hitting the brain at once. The evidence here is mostly anecdotal, but the risk is real and serious enough that I'd treat it as a hard stop. Please don't combine these, and talk with your doctor or pharmacist about any other sedating products you use.

GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate) is a powerful central nervous system depressant that is NOT a safe dietary supplement. In the U.S. it is a controlled substance, and only a tightly regulated prescription form (sodium oxybate) is legal for narcolepsy. Non-prescription GHB can cause coma, breathing failure, and death, and it is also a known 'date-rape' drug — it should not be taken outside of medical supervision.
