Here's the simple version: hexobarbital is a barbiturate sleeping medicine that already calms and slows your brain down hard. GHB does the very same thing through its own receptors and the GABA system. When you stack two strong nervous-system depressants like these, their effects don't just add up, they can pile on top of each other.

The real danger is over-sedation and slowed breathing. That can look like extreme drowsiness, confusion, very shallow or stopped breathing, a dangerously low heart rate, coma, or death. The evidence here is mostly anecdotal, but the risk is serious enough that I'd never take chances with it. Please don't combine these, and talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using either one.

  • Alcohol withdrawal (in some countries)

GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate) is a powerful central nervous system depressant that is NOT a safe dietary supplement. In the U.S. it is a controlled substance, and only a tightly regulated prescription form (sodium oxybate) is legal for narcolepsy. Non-prescription GHB can cause coma, breathing failure, and death, and it is also a known 'date-rape' drug — it should not be taken outside of medical supervision.
