Here's the simple version: GHB is a heavy-duty brain and breathing depressant, and Aristada (aripiprazole lauroxil) is a long-acting antipsychotic that can also cause drowsiness and slowed reflexes. Stack the two together and you can pile on too much sedation. The worry is deep grogginess, confusion, dizziness, very slowed or shallow breathing, and in a worst case passing out or not being able to wake up.

One thing to keep in mind: this medicine is given as a depot injection, so it stays in your body for weeks. You can't simply 'shake it off' the way you could with a daily pill. The evidence here is mostly anecdotal, but the risk is serious enough that I wouldn't take chances. Please talk with your doctor or pharmacist before mixing these, and don't change your injection on your own.

GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate) is a powerful central nervous system depressant that is NOT a safe dietary supplement. In the U.S. it is a controlled substance, and only a tightly regulated prescription form (sodium oxybate) is legal for narcolepsy. Non-prescription GHB can cause coma, breathing failure, and death, and it is also a known 'date-rape' drug — it should not be taken outside of medical supervision.

Aripiprazole injection is used to treat schizophrenia and to provide maintenance treatment for bipolar I disorder in adults. Different injectable products carry these approvals.

Abilify Asimtufii is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults and as maintenance monotherapy for bipolar I disorder in adults. Aristada is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults, with Aristada Initio used specifically to help start Aristada therapy.
