Aripiprazole Lauroxil falls under QT INTERVAL-PROLONGING DRUGS — the group Cesium interacts with.

Theoretically, taking cesium concomitantly with other drugs that prolong the QT interval may increase the risk of ventricular arrhythmias and death.
Taking cesium can prolong the QT interval on electrocardiogram (ECG). In many cases, cesium-induced QT prolongation has led to serious adverse effects, including torsades de pointes, cardiac arrest, and death.

Here's the heart of it: cesium chloride can mess with your heart's electrical rhythm, stretching out what doctors call the QT interval on an ECG. Aristada (aripiprazole lauroxil) can also nudge that same interval. When you stack two things that both do this, the risk of a dangerous, sometimes deadly heart rhythm (like torsades de pointes) goes up.

To be fair, the evidence here is anecdotal and somewhat theoretical, so I'm not saying it definitely happens. But cesium is genuinely risky and has no proven benefit, while your long-acting injection stays in your system for weeks, so it's not something you can quickly undo. Please don't use cesium, and talk with your doctor or pharmacist first.

Aripiprazole injection is used to treat schizophrenia and to provide maintenance treatment for bipolar I disorder in adults. Different injectable products carry these approvals.

Abilify Asimtufii is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults and as maintenance monotherapy for bipolar I disorder in adults. Aristada is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults, with Aristada Initio used specifically to help start Aristada therapy.
