Crizotinib falls under QT INTERVAL-PROLONGING DRUGS — the group Cesium interacts with.

Theoretically, taking cesium concomitantly with other drugs that prolong the QT interval may increase the risk of ventricular arrhythmias and death.
Taking cesium can prolong the QT interval on electrocardiogram (ECG). In many cases, cesium-induced QT prolongation has led to serious adverse effects, including torsades de pointes, cardiac arrest, and death.

Here's the concern with pairing cesium and Xalkori (crizotinib). Crizotinib already carries a known risk of stretching out the heart's electrical cycle, something doctors call QT prolongation. Cesium does the very same thing, and it has been linked to dangerous rhythm disturbances, including a serious arrhythmia called torsades de pointes, cardiac arrest, and even death.

Stack two QT-prolonging substances together and you raise the odds of those rhythm problems. The evidence here is mostly anecdotal, but the outcomes can be severe, so I wouldn't take a chance. On top of that, cesium isn't a proven cancer therapy and can be harmful on its own. Please talk with your oncologist or pharmacist before adding any supplement to your crizotinib.

What is Cesium?

Cesium chloride is a mineral salt sold as an alternative cancer therapy ('high pH therapy'), but there is no reliable scientific evidence that it treats cancer or any other disease. It can cause dangerous heart rhythm problems and even death, so it should not be used. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking any supplement, and never use cesium in place of proven medical care.

About Crizotinib

What Is Crizotinib Used For?

Brand name: Xalkori

Xalkori (crizotinib) treats adult patients with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) whose tumors test positive for ALK or ROS1 gene changes, as confirmed by an FDA-approved test.

Xalkori is also used for pediatric patients (age 1 and older) and young adults with relapsed or refractory systemic ALK-positive anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL), and for adult and pediatric patients (age 1 and older) with unresectable, recurrent, or refractory ALK-positive inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT). Xalkori's safety and effectiveness in older adults with relapsed or refractory ALK-positive ALCL have not been established.
